Breuer 18 x 18 Chair Caning / Cane Seat Repair Kit

This replacement kit is designed for recaning chairs that have "pressed" cane, which means the chair must have a groove or channel around the area to be replaced. This kit will not be suitable for chairs with drilled holes. To complete the finished seat, a few household items will be needed, such as a small amount of glue and a straight slot screwdriver.

The kit includes the following: - A fresh, new piece of 18" square cane (1 piece) - #8 spline, which fits into a 3/16" groove in the chair and holds the cane in place - 5 wood wedges - Complete instructions

This kit can replace a seat up to 17" square. Please double-check the provided photos to ensure your chair has pressed cane. The first photo shows what the chair seat should look like with the caning removed, featuring a groove or channel, not drilled holes. The next two photos demonstrate what the area should look like with the caning installed, with a smooth strip or bead of spline around the outside edge of the seat.

The size of the cane included in this kit is labeled as "1/2" open," meaning there is a 1/2" distance from the center of one hole to the center of the next hole. If you are trying to match old caning, please check the pattern size before placing your order.

It is crucial to double-check the measurements for the area you are recaning, as it cannot be larger than 17" square. If you believe your item has an unusually large groove width, please contact us with the measurements to ensure this kit will work for your project.
